I am not a huge makeup or product person, so when I use something it has to be effective. I have gone through phases in my life where I use ultra expensive lines with big claims( and probably lots of fragrance and parabens) and other phases( pregnancy) where I was completely au natural and organic with my products. I had a facial when I finished nursing my son, and the woman took one look at my skin under the magnifying mirror and told me it was definitely time to be using a retinol, like EVERY day. I was horrified, because estheticians always used to compliment me on my skin. I couldn’t argue with her because she has two children and has to have the most flawless complexion I have ever seen! The truth is, I do have nice skin but sun damage is becoming a real thing, and I need to be more careful. Shani also told me sunscreen is a must, which was no surprise, and that I should be using some oil free products which I have never done before. My t-zone is a little oily from all of the hormonal changes in the last few years, and contrary to what I always believed, more moisturizer will not make you look like a baby forever, but some great serums might! I loved the makeover Shani gave my routine, and I have never felt my products to be more effective. A facial with her is quite a treat, and I highly recommend it.
